Benefits of Brain-Based Laser Treatment

ree

At Life Springs Family Chiropractic, we use brain-based laser therapy as part of a comprehensive, neurologically-centered healing system. Laser therapy alone is powerful—but when combined with adjustments, neurofeedback, and biofeedback, it becomes a transformative tool that helps the brain reset, regulate, and repair.

Why the Adjustment Comes First

To get the full benefit of brain-based laser therapy, the foundation must be set: a balanced, regulated nervous system.

A brain-based chiropractic adjustment:

  • Activates the prefrontal cortex

  • Stimulates the frontal lobe

  • Balances the cerebellum

  • Interrupts the sympathetic “fight-or-flight” response

This shift moves your brain out of survival mode and into a state where healing is actually possible. When your nervous system is calm and receptive, the laser can do its job more effectively.

How Brain-Based Laser Therapy Works

We use a specific wavelength: 808 nanometers, an infrared frequency capable of penetrating bone and deep brain tissue—up to several inches.

Why this matters:

  • Red light (600–650 nm) can only affect soft tissue.

  • Infrared at 808 nm reaches the brain, mitochondria, and neurovascular structures directly.

Once absorbed, this wavelength increases ATP (energy) production through the cytochrome c oxidase pathway. The brain uses 20% of all the energy in the body—so when your brain energy increases, healing accelerates.

Laser therapy also:

  • Increases nitric oxide, improving blood flow and oxygen

  • Decreases NF-kappa B, a major driver of chronic inflammation

  • Reduces glial priming, the process behind neurodegeneration and “cytokine storms”

  • Stabilizes the blood-brain barrier, preventing inflammatory spillover

  • Supports the vagus nerve and gut-brain axis

These effects create a healthier neurological environment for healing and long-term function.

Why We Pair Laser, Neurofeedback, and Biofeedback

Laser therapy increases energy in the brain—but to keep the brain in a regulated state, we pair it with:

Neurofeedback

Trains the brain’s electrical patterns (brainwaves) to stay balanced. Think: laser gives the brain the power, neurofeedback teaches it what to do with that power.

Biofeedback

Helps retrain the body—heart rate, breath, muscle tension—so your physiology matches your brain’s calmer, regulated state.

This is how we help patients stay out of fight-or-flight rather than snapping back into it.

Some Conditions Our Laser Therapy Helps

Because the laser targets the brain, inflammation, and mitochondria, it supports recovery in a wide range of conditions:

  • Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs)

  • Long COVID and post-viral fatigue

  • ADHD and focus issues

  • Chronic fatigue

  • Memory problems

  • Anxiety and stress regulation

  • Hot flashes and hormone imbalance

  • Leaky gut and vagus nerve dysfunction

  • Digestive inflammation

  • Bone repair and scar tissue

  • Neurological pain patterns

The goal is simple: Increase brain energy, decrease inflammation, and restore communication between the brain and body.
